The Main Functions of Computer Memory

the main functions of computer memory
Computer Memory

The principal and central function of computer memory is to store all data on the device. This also performs certain other functions, depending on the type of data, besides processing the data. Some of its functions apply to storage only because of its primary function in storage, such as RAM, ROM, data storage, hard drives, and flash memory. Each carries out the function necessary to keep the machine going.

RAM:

Random Access Memory (RAM) is a type of memory which is used by the processor, A processor stores the data into the RAM to get quick access over the data. It takes a lot of time for processor to go to the Hard Disk and seek for files that user want to open, that is why it stores the data into RAM, which is frequently being used by the processor to save time.

Once you Shut Down your computer all the data stored into the RAM gets deleted and processor needs to load all the information into the RAM upon Starting this is the reason why it take time to successfully boot up

Hard Drive:

A hard drive is the main source of storage in a computer. A hard disk is the foundation of storing data inside a device. This provides storage of computer and user files, which contains images which documents from your operating system. Technically speaking, a hard drive is a magnetic-coated spinning disk, similar to the magnetic ribbons used to hold cassette records. There is one moving arm that reads and copies all the data, so you can transfer the new data from the spinning disk or open files from the hard disk.

Flash Memory:

Flash memory is the common term used for Electronically erasable-programmable-read-only-memory (EEPROM). This is used in the video game cards of the computer, and also to store some important system information. This is not like the other memory styles that erase or copy bit-byte data, but instead EEPROM is used to alter data in bit groups, making it a easy and flexible choice for devices such as memory sticks and cameras where the stored data frequently varies from time to time.

ROM:

Read Only Memory is called ROM. ROM generated data is used to track the device's most basic functionalities, such as start-up, operation of device fans and peripheral detection. And, as the name suggests, the software or users can't alter these details. All recorded stays over there after the computer had been turned off. ROM is a non-volatile memory source, similar to the flash memory and the hard drives. Being non-volatile means that the data stays in place even when the power is off.

How to Fix Windows 10 Error Code 0x8024a000

What is Error Code 0x8024a000

Error code 0x8024a000 can show itself in many ways using Windows. In Windows 2000, this error message will appear on Windows 10, and explicitly addresses an error in the update process. This can occur while running a Windows update, while starting or shutdown and even during the installation phase of a windows operating system. It is caused by bugs in the Windows registry (a full list of processes that run on your computer), after incomplete updates or unauthorized updates, or when Windows Updates information have been deleted.

Since displaying any of those signs, there are other steps you should take. It's useful to know when the error happened during normal use of your computer, as that will help you determine which of the following methods to use. If programs or updates tend to crash in the middle of use, it could be malware. The update would be inaccurate when it happens during the initialization of a specific program, so you may want to skip to Method 3 and so on. I recommend that you take the methods in series to try to solve the problem.

Method Number 1

The simplest why you can use to remove this error code is to run a scan of windows pre-built software called "Windows Defender" to check for malware and viruses, If it finds any viruses of malware it would remove it. Then try to run the program which was showing this error to see if it is solved or not. If not then try the following step.

Method Number 2

In this method you will be cleaning your computer's files which interfere with the windows update, or may ease the load of heavily loaded disk. since internet programs and mail services uses a tons of bytes on your drive and that could clog up your computer. to solve this error consider the following steps:
  • Go to the Start Menu
  • Search for CMD and run it as administrator by right clicking on it
  • Grant administrator permission
  • Type " cleanmgr " on CMD and press enter
  • Select Temporary Files from the list by ticking the checkbox next to it and others that you want to clean.
  • Click OK to begin the process
  • Retry to run the program that want showing the error and if it still showing the error code then move along to the next step.

  • if you still encounter the same error then jump to the next step.

Method Number 4

You should consider this step as a last step because in this step you have to restore your Windows in order to get rid of that error code. A restore point is created when an update is installed so keep in mind that some software might be uninstalled.
  • Go to Start Menu
  • Search for " reset this pc " and press enter
  • Select Get Started and allow the permissions.
  • The process of restoration will begin and it may take some time
  • Once the process is completed install the software again which was uttering the error and that error will no longer appear.
